Antique Silver Tuareg ‘Tsabit’ Earrings, Niger
Beautiful antique Tuareg high-grade silver earrings, made in a traditional design. These heavy hoop-style earrings display hand-worked geometric patterns on the polyhedral-shaped faceted knobs at the end of the hoops, which are completed with a flat base. In good antique condition with nice patina. They are highly collectible.
Earrings such as these are worn in pairs by Ullimeden Tuareg women of Niger and are often accompanied by elkiss bracelets of a very similar matching design. They are a symbol of a woman’s wealth and her Tuareg identity. This old pair have matching silver elkiss bracelets, which you can find for sale here: Antique Tuareg Silver ‘Elkiss’ Bracelets
