Antique Large Silver Enamelled 'Tagemout' Pendant from Ida Ou Semlal
This striking enamelled tagemout (egg) pendant was most likely worn as the central element of a fibula or necklace. It is made of good quality silver (tested) and features enamelling in yellow and green that is synonymous with the Ida ou Semlal region of Morocco, also silver filigree work. It has three suspended coins dated 1320, 1321 and 1331 in the Hijri calendar corresponding with 1902, 1903 and 1912 in the Gregorian calendar. A lovely antique piece in very good condition for its age.
