Vintage Tuareg Tcherot Amulet, Mali
This striking old Tuareg tcherot amulet is very unusual in that the front is made of silver, the bar at the top is made of copper, and the back is made using an old sardine can! It is very light. It is believed that using several metals offers more protection to the wearer. The engraving on the silver and copper is beautiful, very fine. The central granulation of the raised part of the amulet is likely to have been worn away through age and usage. A lovely old piece for collectors.
